The integration of Slack with Oniva via webhook enables real-time notifications in your Slack channels whenever relevant events occur in Oniva. Whether it’s a new registration or an on-site check-in, your event team is informed instantly – without needing to switch platforms. This integration is particularly valuable for larger events with multiple stakeholders, as it creates transparency and enables fast response times. The connection is set up via Oniva’s webhook and can be configured without any coding knowledge.

Instructions

  1. Create a Slack Incoming Webhook: In Slack, go to “Apps” → “Incoming Webhooks” and create a new webhook for the desired channel. Copy the generated webhook URL.
  2. Create a webhook in Oniva: Open the webhook settings in Oniva and add the Slack webhook URL as the endpoint. Select the events that should trigger notifications (registration or check-in).
  3. Activate the webhook at event level: Once created, the webhook must be enabled for the relevant events.
  4. Test: Perform a test registration and check whether the notification appears correctly in the Slack channel.

Requirements

  • Active Slack account
    Permission to install apps
  • Admin rights in Oniva
    Tenant admin permissions

Licence & pricing

  • Available on all annual licence tiers
Supported for Basic, Advanced, Premium and Enterprise (not available for event-based licences)
  • Additional costs (if applicable):
Webhook available as an add-on for Basic and Advanced plans (see pricing)

Use cases

  1. Live registration monitoring: Each new registration automatically posts the participant’s name, email and selected option in a dedicated Slack channel – ideal for real-time visibility for the event team.
  2. On-site check-in notifications: When participants are checked in, a notification appears in the Slack channel used by the check-in team – helpful for coordination at large in-person events.
  3. Instant alerts for VIP registrations: When a participant from a specific permission group (e.g. VIP or sponsor) registers, Slack notifies the responsible account manager immediately.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about integration

Do I need a paid Slack licence?

Can I send notifications to different channels depending on the event type?

Yes, you can create multiple webhooks in Oniva and configure each one to send to a different Slack channel and event type.

Can Slack messages be customised?

The messages include the fields provided by Oniva. Custom formatting is possible via Zapier as an intermediary layer if you require specific layouts.
